Hi all I need some help.
Some what confused.
I am trying to redo my brake lines and realised that I dont understand what type of flares have been used.

This is the flare to the flexible hose, is it a double flare? what is it called? There 2L brakes so the fittings are metric.

My flaring tool creates a double flare but not like  the ones used on the escort.
My flare tool creates flares like the one on the right , the escort one of the left is different.

If  I cant make the flares with my tools, then I have to take them to a brake shop.

What type of flares do I ask for?

Thanks in advance
Emil

NQRS
Hi Emil,
I replaced all the brake lines in my RS, especially as I fitted a larger master cyl to go with the rear disc conversion.  I took all the brake lines in to my local brake shop. This was to ensure all the flares were correctly duplicated because there were several different types, especially with the braided stainless flex lines, also the nipples can be different lengths , depending on which fittings are used. If you can make up the lines to the right length and shape it shouldn't cost much to get the flares done.
Cheers,Len
