I think the switch is the problem because if I fiddle around with it the indicators will work and hazards will work... So I guess I'll get another one. Also the clip for the speedo cable is broken, am I able to use a little glue or tape to hold it into place for a while? Money is getting scarce at the moment as I need to pay rego and tyres for the falcon real soon. Also I was filing around with the timing and I've gotten rid of the back fire but the on;y way to accelerate through the rev range is to baby the throttle, if I stamp on this she will die. Also there was bubbles coming out between the #2 and #3 cylinder head and the extractors. Looks like butter/sugar caramelising in a pan. I took the muffler off because I suspect it may have a blocked muffler as the exhaust is a bit rusty and has seen better days... I haven't started it yet since I was 8pm at night when I finished and next door has a baby. I haven't checked it yet still since I've got a big uni test in a few days so I've been hitting the books. Also if the exhaust isn't blocked I have no idea why there is bubble coming up, my other lead to not being able to rev up quickly is the carby (32/36) is over fuelling the 1.6 kent.

As always, any help is appreciated.

Hey vanmansam,
Caramel bubbles sound like a headache, maybe best to walk away for a while, hit the books for uni and drive there in a mundane but rego'ed falcon in the meantime.... I face the same thing, to work, in a boring as wagon & it's not that bad...
The Escort, help on the forum and new engines on gumtree are still always there on the weekends............
Cheers Drewdog............

Here is a few pics to help explain what I'm saying. Also when the engine is about to die it shoots fuel mist  up and out of the carby, I have a feeling this is not normal and the only thing I can think of to stop this is to reduce the idle and/or air-fuel mixture screw... As always any help is appreciated.

SPIGOT: You must not have read where I said..........."Factory EI are the only reliable upgrade to points" just after where I said "well maintained points are always better than unknown after-market EI from who- knows-where".
Concurrently, "well maintained points" goes hand in hand with like well maintained Vacuum and mechanical advances, etc
