The Other Half
Need a new starter motor for my Pinto.

Was looking around at what's on offer and can't find much. Saw Burtons is offering a 1.4kw unit. Anyone used these? It only had two bolt holes whereas my Bosch unit has three. A bit odd?

Any other suggestions?

For those interested here are photos og the Hi-Torque starter motor unit. There is no ignition wire attachement, just the starter wire.

Very powerful and neat looking unit.

Just my observation is that the 2 allen bolts holding the motor to the adaptor are going to cop the bulk of the load, torsionally and Shear, I'd upgrade and loctite those buggers.. be nice if there were three, I'd also say there probably is no issue but it LOOKS marginal.

Its the thickness left, on adaptor plate, after recessing, thats crap.

When the pinion and fly gear are trying to wedge them selves apart.

No amount of loctites gonna help there.

Poor design [V]
