I wish! yeah I blame myself for trusting what the tuner said in that it was idling as expected, which I now know is crap because this engine sounds and runs totally different to my 1st build.

Yeah Phil true! I should be seeing full boost alot earlier, the ECU is controlling the boost so may have to look there, also I do have the .82 rear so maybe that ain't helping either.

Yeah, ecu's typically are very hard to get the boost control tune right. My 3076 makes 16psi by 4250rpm and 23psi by 4650rpm, that also has the .82 rear

Phil is there a post of your dyno readout on the forum. I'd love to compare and present to my tuner and say what gives!

There probably is but a long time ago...the graph below is also with 7.2:1cr which was unknown prior to stripping the engine so should deliver boost earlier with the FJ's 8:1 or 8.5:1. It could easily deliver 27psi at 4750rpm if the gate hold pressure was set higher. I dont use the SM4 to control boost as I have never seen an ecu controlled boost solenoid do the job nicely/properly. I have 3 switched outputs based on vehicle speed which can externally switch the eboost set points, I find this works much better. In saying that I dont really use the variable boost in any case, I usually just run it on 26psi. At the drags a decent set of ET Streets will hook up even on 26psi.

EDIT: Im pretty sure this graph was with the 2871R. 3076 to follow...

3076R on a 30psi run...no gains to be had at this boost due to the engines breathing limitations. I normally ran it at 26psi with the same results. This was also with 7.2:1cr and just prior to the engine retiring. You can see 16psi at 4350rpm and 30psi at 4800rpm. It puts on over 120rwkw from 4000-5000rpm. You can see between to 2 graphs that the 2871R was maxed out for boost and the 3076R is still very much in it at 30psi and 7000rpm...should make for some magic with the new motor which should rev comfortably to 9000rpm if the cams and boost are up for it

Thanks Phil, Always good to read what others are getting with different turbo combinations. I've got a few tweaks needed still, so will chat to my tuner and see if we can get that boost in earlier.

Yeah very happy with the turbo!, outputs 263Kw @ 16psi & 400Nm Torque. Cams are 264deg , Static Compression is 8.5 : 1
Revs quick thanks to lighter pistons and rods and grips amazing with the Toyo R888 semi slicks.
I reckon I could get low 11s in this baby with a good launch.

Re: The high boost setting, I'm thinking 20-22 PSI will be plenty for 98 fuel. And 25-30 PSI on E85

Thats awesome stuff, love seeing progress on this thing makes me want to get mine running. Also gives me an idea to what ill acheive, 25psi all day every day. what size tyre did you go as thats what i was looking at running.
