She's all right now. Better than it was before. Still have a heap of vibration problems but I will deal with them soon enough.
Took it to 80 in second this morning. Dunno how many revs that is but it sounds cool/scary dont want to break anything lol.
Just waiting for the place im buying the zetec off to wire it all up and put the new starter motor on it and I'll purchase it lol. Yeah they are almost doing the whole thing for me =)

Not going Zetec anymore... well not at this time. Was just going over the fine details with the place i was buying it off and the price had risen since last time. What the engine had with it became less. The amount of stuff i had to buy/have made/import was going up and with my ruff calculations it was going to be well over 7k and thats just the obvious stuff i could think of. People seem to do it a lot better than that. And If i was going to spend that much i would just spend a bit more and get the complete kit from eurospeed for the duratec and have more power!

But anywho...

The pinto has done the head gasket... probably did it ages ago... never relised what the symptoms where... always been like that so thought it was the norm, the norm for my tired crappy engine. Had the whole car checked over and there are many more problems. So i need another engine to do up and drop in ASAP.

Got all my coil over parts here need to get them done and in and put my single leaf springs in.

Will try to update this when i can.

cant help ya with locating a new engine, but in my opinion, stay oldschool, get a tweaked - worked, 2ltr on twins and youll be laughing ,get the arches and paint done, maybe do a swap later..

cant help but notice the bad luck you have had with your 2ltr..

u need some good news engine wise man.

Thanks man.
Yeah i'll stay with the pinto for the time being. Way i see it they are cheap if you don't go stupid. They are men't to be in my car so ease of install and they sound great =P

even a nice mild 2ltr Pinto can be a really fun car to get around it
espically if you get your diff in with a 3.9 ratio replacing the 3.54
I agree with Sterling, spend the time & effort to get flares on & the paint done....
If you decide to change the motor later on, at least with a swap to a duratec or zetec there is no real mods to the body work in the engine bay - just engine & gearbox mounts

Update time. With pics =)
Well im pulling the whole car apart and fixing everything so i hope i dont have any problems with the car while I'm at uni. I will be doing as much as i can myself and the only thing that scares me is the wiring... and the cost of the rebuild LOL =P

Took the plastic cr@p off the heater bubble, expecting to see rust.

Woopwoop just a lil bit of dirt. But I took a look inside and...

=( it made me sad. Tho I was pretty sure it was going to be like that before i looked. Can anyone advise me on the best way to get the bubble off? Do i just take an angle grinder to it and weld it back on when fixed?

This is the ammount of room I have to work. A very cluttered double garage.

Gotta love having access to a grit blaster.

The head would have seen better days

Lyndon Arnel is the guy doing my engine and he looked at the head and told me that one of the valves is burnt out. One is recessed into the head and another isnt seating properly. There are signs of deternation and my cam is screwed LOL. Rebuilt engine should go much better =P

Thats it for now. More updates in a weeks time. (I'll try to make it a habit =P)

Cheers Guys

removing the heater bubble(or the 't!t'!), you need to remove the windscreen to access the spotwelds as the grid is atached to the bubble. I cut along the edge of the grid and bubble which was ok...but when re welding it was a pain to get flat and unmolested looking.

those chambers look like they were experiencing serious blow by... was it still running on all four? or was it loosing a cylinder sometimes?

Thanks martymexico. Windscreen is coming out sometime this week (paying $50 to have it done so i don't break it) So i will have a look =)

And yeah that was my daily lol. That engine raced a supercharged rolla down a 22km dirt road and kicked its ass =) It pushed the old girl up the hill in the 2nd quoted pic and in total i ran it over 20,000 like that. It started loosing a cyl about 1week before i pulled it off the road but other than that starting probables and the lack of power where all that was wrong with it.

The rims i have no idea. Where on it when i got it. They look good but the 2 on the left hand side of the car are square and lose lots of pressure really quickly =|

Cheers
