Hi I am going to get a rs2600 on Wednesday and I have a question about the back of the car ,is it correct that I have only one exit on the left hand side from a silencer with 2 pipes or is it I should have 2 exit pints one on the left and one on the right side of the car I've been looking and all I can find is twin exit on all rs2600 or was it an option?
Second question is on the vin plate in the column ( version) I have a letter R what does this stand for .

I’m just going to guess
R... right hand drive
Correct one single pipe left hand side.
Give others time 2 respond and correct me.
Can’t wait to see your new car.
Do you have any pictures?

Hi thanks for your help as I was looking round I managed to find out that the letter (R) in the column say
(Version) stands for capri but still I don't know about the exhaust system but anyway I will see it for my self on Wednesday, sorry I have only the advert of the car at the moment which doesn't give much details, the car I can tell you as been standing for 35 years in a garage and the engine as frozen though standing is what the seller is saying but its been stored very well, no rust just dirty, if it is what the seller says it is I will buy it and post some photos ,thanks again roby

The pre-facelift RS2600 had twin exhaust exits (doppelrohr in German), and I’m reasonably certain the facelift 1973 did also but can’t find an original facelift brochure online. This link is an original Mk1 pre-facelift brochure from 1970: https://www.motomobil.com...S2600_1970_deutsch.pdf
