Hi All,
I'm trying to get a replacement inner front door opening seals for my 2 door RS- having a bit of trouble  finding which is the right pinchweld to get or should I go a moulded seal with the proper 90 degree corner ones ? Scotts old auto rubber or somewhere else?  Any leads appreciated. With car clubs cruising now closed this is the ideal time to get some of these bits fixed.

Hi all,
Got the correct pinch weld from Yesterford, would have liked the proper moulded one but would have to come from overseas and none available at the moment. I think the real trick is to cut the angles neatly at the top of the door jam, maybe with a thin cutting disc n order to get a clean cut.

Hey Len,
Go slow with the cutting disc, if you heat the metal ribbing up to much it'll melt the rubber.
A good set of side cutters should do the trick and if theres any excess you can touch it up with a file or flappy disc on the grinder, but once again just go slowly.

Hi Drew,
Yes, might use a good pair of aviation style snips, my other cutters were not particularly good. How's the Mark1 coming along, haven't seen any posts for a while?
Cheers

Hey Len,
Going through a saga with the windscreen at the moment. Last thing I need to do before I fit the interior.
Wanted to update to a modern laminated unit. Only found one supplier doing them so grabbed one. For the life of me I couldn't get it in. I offered it up to the old one and it had a bow of about 20mm. So back to the supplier, 6 week wait over the christmas/ new year period, new one arrives, once bitten twice shy I offered it up to the old one first before trying to fit it. This ones straight but 10mm wider and once again won't fit. Better than it being bent as I can have a glazier arris it down.
Frustrated I walked away from it for a couple of weeks then all of this virus kicked off. Dag nab it!
Anyway theres much worse things going on right now so I won't dwell on it too much.
Stay safe mate. Cheers Drew

Drew can you get one of the local Obriens to fit it?
Obliviously not now unless he's got 2m arms, but I think id pay a few hundred and let the experts have a paly.

Stay safe too Len, and all the 'oldies' until this flu thing passes over..:)

Hey Deano, no worries with the fitting I was taught by a friends father who was a fitter. The original goes in and out easy its just these new ones are odd shapes. At least this ones straight and I can do something about the excess.
Cheers Drew

Hi Deano,
No worries, there are only 2 people in my office and we have the usual distancing procedures in place. My wife works in aged care so hygiene  is second nature at our place!
Cheers, Len
