My Capri is CK17ME-----  and has the 165 HP Decal on Bulkhead and Air Filter cover and 38DGAS Weber as well as the uprated Trans and uprated Diff. Cam Wheel is the uprated Steel with outer Gear made of Fibre, plus D-port Heads. Mine is one of the seven used by a Ford Coy Executive called Mr Suiter, and not one of the BSS as you say Terry..........is there anything I've mentioned that makes you think I may be wrong about my "Wild Plum" being one of the LAST 7 Exec 165HP that is one of the "Select Group" of 11 165 HP ?

Bernie, there is no doubt that your 'wild plum' Capri, knowing its full Chassis Number, IS one of the 11 Capri's known as the 165bhp 'Specials'!

A Pillar ordered, Wheel arch and rear beaver ordered, awaiting delivery.  Holes for non factory bits welded up in the engine bay.  2 X High Back Buckets sourced and dropped in for the B2 inserts, and a new top panel for the rear bench seat.

So progress being made.  I have requested copies of the known documentation for these cars to make up a folder to go with the car for the new owner when its finished.

General consensus is to paint it in GT form rather than Delete style.  I will put the GT badges on the arches with tape so the stripes could be removed and the badge re-located if the new owner so desires.

Todays progress, A pillar ordered and paid from Ex-Pressed, I will have a complete Left A pillar spare if anyone is looking for one (as I ordered 3 there was no difference in shipping).

I went and saw the car yesterday and a lot of the small customized holes have been welded up and the new replacement sections delivered.

I have begun the re-assembly of the cars "race" engine which had a broken piston and caused all the bearings to pick up bits of the metal.  Fortunately the crank did not suffer and the bore cleaned up quite well.  I sourced 2 NOS Hepolite Powermax pistons and had one fitted to the broken ones rod.  The original owner spent a lot of money balancing the internals, heat treating and polishing the rods and crank, tear-dropping the oil galleries etc.  I replaced the bearings and will re-fit the pistons tomorrow, then start on the heads.  I need to get the cam analyzed so I can set the top spec Yella Terra roller rockers, as there are no numbers stamped on its nose. Valves are oversize and the ports have been worked over.  The 4 barrel manifold, 600 Holley, and winged sump have been fitted on another engine currently in the Orange car, so Ill need to swap them over to complete the race motor.  Ill sell off the race motor, and running stockie with T5 gearbox once the D Port and 3 rail box are assembled.  Big job this.....

I have found the uprated gearbox internals and arranged for them to be put into a 3 rail case.  I have also located a D Port engine which I will freshen up inside thus taking care of the running gear.

My 2 missing Rostyle  wheels have arrived, I had to swap a fair few parts with their current owner to get them back, but they are here now and alls well.

New panels all arrived and dropped off to the Maestro of the MIG. Should see some serious progress now.   Cannot complain about Ex-Pressed service, the left A pillar which they did have in stock was packed and sent out same day, arrived 5 days later.  I ordered 3 as freight was the same price as 1, allowing 2 forum regulars to get one at 1/3 of the (quite expensive) freight

good stuff looks to be coming along

was there any reason you went for the replacement wheel arch instead of sourcing a whole new quater panel .... mine needed a wheel arch section but once i seen how much welding etc was easier replacing quater

good to see it getting fixed tho

Used quarters are usually rusty, new qtrs are crazy expensive and then there is freight, I figured Elliott could graft in pieces as required, although he tells me the guards have been (poorly) lipped so it may end up in a complete arch
