Anybody have a part number for a brake master cylinder repair kit (late type, for a MkII)? It's been way too long since I've done this job, but I seem to recall that in the past they were available either with just some new seals or a more comprehensive package that included springs etc. My searching for online catalogs isn't turning up much at all.

Try Perth brake parts, its amazing what he's got in there, they rebuild them next day so they must have the kits.

Protex K7834X for seal kit.
Any brake repair shop should be able to order in, & Yesterford have them.
Master cylinders are no longer available, so I had to get it re-sleeved.

apologies for dragging up an old thread, I am now in the process of fitting a protex kit also.
My master cylinder has been resleeved at one stage, but has obviously sat for some time.
 
The problem is I can't for the life of me get the assembly out. I have removed the fluid reservoir, end c clip, and also the stop pin. Theoretically then you just draw the plunger out. I soaked it in fresh brake fluid, and also fitted it back into the car to use the brake pedal to move the plunger. It will move maybe 1 cm, but that's about it.
The bore now looks clean, so I figure the seals have just dried up (the 'fluid'' I removed was mostly brown gunge).
 
I also tried to blow it out with an air compressor after blocking up the connections, but still no luck.
 
Any tricks on how to remove this stubborn mongrel would be appreciated.

I held the cylinder and repeatedly smacked the open end on a block of soft wood, which got the pistons moving.

Thanks for the advice, I just had to man up and bash the utter beejesus out of it until it shifted.
The bore looks pretty reasonable considering.
 
Might have some brakes this weekend fingers crossed.
