I would be interested in getting a 4 speed shifter off you Steve if you still have them. Let me know. I kinda knew that the seat was not real leather but it felt good to say it :). Fitted it over the weekend and it sits well. Run the car for some time also to check for any temp issues and so far so good. Fuel gauge also seems not to be working will have to figure that one later. Does anyone know the best way of restoring the "leather like" material that they put on the roof of these cars? The elements have taken a toll on mine. Cheers!

The vinyl on your roof can be refurbished just like door trims etc.  use sugar soap or something similar to give it a thorough clean, a couple of times if necessary, if there is a heavy build up of crud. Use good quality vinyl spray like UHT. couple of light coats with a time gap between to allow to dry fully, until you're happy with the colour achieved, satin is usually the style, rather than high gloss. Then Armourall or some other protectant to keep it looking good. Len

After many moons, which includes changing jobs and moving house, I'm back to this project. Got a bit of a setback though. The day before I moved house, I prepped the car to be trailered but that night we had some wild weather and the kids trampoline was uprooted from its anchors and it landed on the escort :(. Cracked the front windscreen and for some reason (dont know how), the radiator as well :(. The front grill has only a small crack - go figure.
Anyway, I'm currently looking for a standard serviceable radiator for this car. Does anyone have one?
Cheers! - Steve
