Hi guys,
I have a friend that's selling her grandma 1969 Cortina GT mk2 savage.. Original 80,xxx miles, semi restored, white.. Any value

The rego is KLP 985 (& was last registered 3rd December 1991)
-The conversion was carried out here in Geelong, Victoria. By Mark Deren - A Grade Motor Mechanic / Aircraft Mechanic
-The colour is Diamond White with black decalling on bonnet, with distingished gold GT stripes down each side
-The interior colour has white head lining (original), and the seats, trim, dash are all black.
-She said she has most documentation for the car, but can't verify which actual documents, as they're packed under everything at the moment.
-Nan brought the car in February 1970, from Bob Stillwil Fords in Flemington

Other information she has informed me of, which I'm not sure if you already know:
-summer/winter brakes (ventilated brakes)
-tramp rods
-battery relocated in the boot
-black panther badge (savage)
-cooling system -3 core large radiator with thermatic fan
-bonnet lock behind emblem (key lock)

Bit hard to estimate a price without seeing pictures of it's current condition but I would have thought mid to high 20's might be realistic. Reading your description I gather it is a Savage 'replica' conversion not a real one. A real one's worth considerable more obviously.

motor will most likely be an Essex V6 from a Capri, Cosworth didn't do up the Essex into GAA form until 73 74, a few pics will easilly sort it out (could be the D port version may explain the description lost in translation)

There probably would be a bit of info missed between people in the discirption.. So a real savage doesn't have a cosworth v6? Who can I send a email to to show some photos ?

Nice car, but nothing Cosworth here.  Id love to see it and have a look at how they mounted things etc.  I bought a backyard converted V6 cortina GT back in the 80's it did not drive very well at all.

I believe it's located in Geelong. So by looking at the photo of the motor it isn't a cosworth? And it's a Essex? Do you think it's a genuine savage or just a mock up?

Check the compliance plate, the savage would have a UK build plate, most were based on the 1600E but there were a few two door GT's, there are alot of differences in a savage/ uren car, engine bay and chassis rails should be seam welded, revised suspension mounting holes, bigger fuel tank, battery in boot, grille badge will have a big S and small savage instead of C and cortina. This is a couple of the differences PM me for any more info or google Jeff Uren, should be plenty of info in the UK too...
Cheers Drew...
