I can't keep up with your cars, I thought this was the one you painted the engine bay orange.

Blue dye is a bit different, does it show up imperfections by putting a shine on the surface or going into small holes? I have only used a guide coat in the past.

Will be nice once it's painted, I bet you cant wait. Do you know how he will paint under the scuttle grill?

Yes I start one and then move on to the next. Getting this guy in is a realisation thing for me - that unless I get an anal type person in, they'll never get finished.
Yep your right re the purpose of the dye.
The scuttle will cop the v6 blackout treatment.
Pewter with the red interior- I'm looking forward to it!

I have grown to love my red interior. Wasn't sure at first when I bought my car but now I like it as much if not more than the black interior. Not sure on brown yet but I don't think it compares to the red. Looking good Spud.

Well done spud...........

.........I learned panel preparation from 2 Masters; my Dad, and Ron Chapman at Dandenong TAFE many years ago........(too many years ago)

I do not consider myself other than a hack as a metal finisher; as to be even good at any one thing, you must continually practice whatever that thing is............ So we do the best we can and tolerate the double hours it should take, but the feeling of success, makes it all worth it.

If one lesson from both Masters that was driven hard into my brain, stuck, it was that PREPARATION is 99% of the final finish, and only fools waste all that hard earned money on paint materials and labour to paint, on a badly prepared body that was rushed.  From what I've seen on this website, all of you aught to be proud of yourselves, as I see no shortcuts or rushed preparation, which is proven by the beautiful flawless finishes on those gorgeous cars.
