Does anyone one know what they are like on economy? Better or worse than side draughts?

If your getting backfiring through the carbs, you`re looking at valve timing.

Not necessarily, my experience has been that poorly tuned (not balanced) carbs will promote "spitting" more so than cam / valve timing.

Like any carbs, if yo get them set up properly on a dyno they will work great but if you just bench "tune them" they will never be 100%

hi, i use the R1 setup on my oldtimer with 1600 engine. when i driving about 130 km/h for a little while my AFR gauge goes to max value (19). close the throttle for a little while and it goes back to normal. Seems that my carbs get little fuel and they are sucked dry. I use a universal 0,3 bar pump, does somebody know how much fuel the pump should give (ltr/hr) or what the original R1 pump gives ?

thanks !

The original pump is around 2 - 3psi from memory but will flow more or less as demanded by engine. A bike fuel pump is def the way to go
