That looks familiar! ;-)

Don't use the standard fuel pump, just use the electric one.  It'll save a lot of headaches.  Mount it near the tank as they push better then they pull.

What you have said is all fine back the main mixture screw out 2.5 turns and you should be good.  Be careful not to wind them in too tight as they will break off inside the carb.

Good luck.  let me know if you have any more questions.

Cheers

Matt75, only problem I'm having is with the throttle cable, once installed the spring action doesnt seem to be pulling the carbs back to idle easily... Any ideas? I've packed up for the day, hopefully have her out for a drive tomorrow...\

Cheers,

Rob

Hey Mate,

Looks great and sounds pretty good too.  You'll need to fit a return spring on the carbs and on the pedal too for the best results.

I used a spring on the carbs where the accelerator cable attaches.

Mechanical or electric fuel pump?

Try to get them tuned ASAP as if they aren't balanced you may run the risk of running too hot and doing damage.

Great stuff.

The carbs sound tops, rev like nuts, only had a backfire once when hitting full throttle returning to idle..
I'll look into using a spring tomorrow.
Using the electric pump from the CBR 900 and seems to be working great, no overflow and ticks along nicely...
I've got a gunson colortune on the way so that should at least tell me basic mixtures on each cylinder and prevent damage till I get a proper dyno.

Cheers!

The bike pumps work great.

I thought of getting a colour tune. Be keen to hear how you go.

Will do, Just took the car for a drive and holy crap what a difference...
I did pull up after a short run around the block and saw the clear pipe at the back of the carbies which I think is a fuel breather has dripped fuel in the bay, any ideas?

I should note that I have fuel return hooked up, maybe I should remove this?

Not sure.

Give me a buzz.

For anyone following the thread: If you connect up the fuel return to what looks like brass fuel return nozzle at the front of the carbies, simply goes through to the back to another brass nozzle and your return fuel will go up though the tank under heavy braking and come out there..
