Nizcort - has it seen much track time?
I'm building my Mk1 for track day fun, hill climbs etc, but also hoping to get it rego'd.
How about a quick run down on your car, it might spark some interest for when your ready to sell.
What turbo, computer, suspension setup you running? Any idea of power at the wheels?

Don't want to clog this thread, I'll leave it for the sale. Over $40G's spent on this car, but I will be selling it very cheap.

Hey guys....like the idea of all sr20det comments/ideas/help in one thread GREAT IDEA!!.
I started a thread bout 2yrs back with my build but ran out of time and $$ before it all started, due to house and kids now getting slowly back on track.
MKII-2dr
s13 redtop - x-member is a modified one done by 510pom (andy on here), using sr20det mounts- bolts straight in
hilux rear diff(early model one and just bolted in!) converting to disc with skyline r31 callipers
front brakes are at present big brake ebay kit on capri struts
not much more to tell yet...
I have briefly spoken to engineer's but havent followed anything up yet so thats my next step.
Questions.....
1. What are people doing with the brake booster? i know you need it for engineering so im thinking a remote setup like a vh40 or 44  booster, any thoughts?
2. Radiator/intercooler, there is bugger all room in the flat front so trying to get radiator/intercooler and thermo fans in is TIGHT!! be interested to see what people have done...pretty sure is gonna be a custom job.
Just spotted a vt dunnydoor radiator and the core is like 15mm thick!! I thinking if i can get something made up with a core this skinny be great!! anythoughts??

Im not sure if im going to run a booster or not but if i do itl be a remotr type in the drivers guard havent looked into it all that much yet...

As for radiator and intercooler i got mine custom made i already had an ally radiator to suit escort made so im using that should be good enough im also using an electric water pump to free up a bit of room for a decent size thermo fan... Intercooler was custom made end tanks using a PWR core which allows the piping to still com through into the engine bay without any hassels of the radiator in the way theres pictures in my build thread in the project section

VH44 remote booster. Mount it up under the dash :) Lots of installation guides floating around for them too. Much simpler and cheaper than using a Wilwood style pedal box like I did.

hey juiceman even using a remote booster.... wouldn't i still have to have use an adjustable pedal box to get ratio correct?
Cheers

I'd imagine you just have to change the pushrod from the top of the brake pedal to the booster/master if you just mount it up under the dash, but if you're mounting it in the guard I'm not too sure.

I haven't done this conversion myself and don't know any specifics, I'm just going off what little logic I have (probably not much haha).

Barney - Radiator & intercooler selection is a big decision. Size will depend on what you are going to use the car for and how much room you have.

I went for the biggest I could fit.
Intercooler is a PWR unit with a 600x300x73mm core

It fits, just, in the front of a Mk1.

Radiator is a PWR unit, 680x380mm overall, 42mm thick core, 51mmm end tanks.

It just fits between the chassis rails, and allows enough room to shut the bonet.

And a shot of the gap between intercooler & radiator.

It was a big job getting all the intercooler & radiator pipes to fit, but got it done, even managed to fit an electric water pump in there.
If your not using your car for track work you could go smaller radiator and have the intercooler pipes within the engine bay.

RS 2000
Hi, I also have SR20DET in a Mk2 RS. All the work was done by myself apart for an odd machine shop job. Still got brakes, suspension, diff and some of the interior to finish but at least I can drive it now
