Ran up my new motor yesterday on the Dyno and was impressed with the results

Made 124.1kw at the rubber (166hp)

Motor Specs:
2.0 pinto, +40, 0 deck height
Spool H-Beam rods, ARP rod bolts
+40 forged pistons by SPS
High Energy competition sump
Head by Warren Heath, BIG Valves, modified 520X cam
Group 1 44IDF carbies on factory manifold, 36mm chokes
HEI distributor from a TE Magna

There is still something not right in the dissy so its going back to Scorcher this week and we are taking the chokes out to 38mm also.

Will be running it up again later in the week.

Very happy to this point but cant wait to see what it does to my lap times at winton in a few weeks!

Wow! [:u] Very impressive Mr Dub.

124.1kw at the wheels seems a lot for a N/A Pinto. Was it on pump fuel?

I think a lot of people here would be interested to know how to get an extra 30kw without a turbo.

Regards,
Craig.

Glad to hear the head did the trick Bud, hope you're happy with the results. Should bring the lap times down a bit!!

Will keep my eye out for some 48's for you,

Cheers

Great result GDub.

As Craig said I'd be happy to have that extra 30kws to play with. Keep us posted on any improvements to be had with ignition and choke adjustments.

Yep that is running BP Ultimate straight from the pump. We estimate the compression to be just on 11:1

My carbies are always set up by Michael from ITAL Motors in Hawthorn who is the best i have seen with Webers and Dellorto's. This guy has spent his life on Alfa's, Lancia's, Ferrari's and the like which all had Webers and Dellorto's on them.

The dyno is at the old Hypertech motorsport workshop in vermont which for those in Melbourne is the old 4WD dyno from BGT. Its a dyno Dynamics unit.

The key part of this motor is definately the headwork which was all done by Wozzah.

After the tuning work its manners arent too bad either but having said that i would hate to be driving it every day!

I'm running it in the AROCA 6 hour event at winton on the 17th so we will see then what it does to my lap times.

I cant wait ....

Warren Heath does some great work. Very impressed with the dyno figures. Got a pinto with similar specs, different rod length ( 5.7" ) with custom pistons. but with bit less headwork. Have seen the head that went into your car before you bought it from Warren. Very nice work. I will be happy if mine makes 110kW. Well done!!
