Thank you for your replies. I will aim at buying two and keeping costs under $1000. Will see how it goes.

" If Expressed went over $75k a year in sales to Australia, they’d be required to register with the ATO and collect GST on all sales to Australia."
Commonwealth Law very clearly says that only the Commonwealth Government can calculate, charge and collect tax. The states can calculate, charge and collect tax, but it is very limited. For a foreign national company outside of Australia to charge, calculate and collect any form of tax on behalf of the Australian Government is in breach of the most powerful Australian Commonwealth law.

I think the govt take 10% minimum regardless the cost of item being imported.
Heck ! I bought a brakes tee piece for the van at $6 Inc post and taxed 60c ... You can't escape it .
Getting back to panels going over the min tax threshold.. in 1993 I imported genuine mk1 escort RS guards (when they could be bought) and a front panel , I got taxed about $300 payable at the post office before collection. I claimed parts for a 1961 Cortina and tax dropped to $85 being historic parts ...
So if you get hammered when they arrive, tell them items are for an over 40yrs old car and taxes drop heaps .

I got stung on a gearbox but was prepared as wanted it but price dropped was a killer with Customs broker fees which turned into customs fees you name it. Storage fee of two days broke my heart at the end.
Also had same issue with another W pattern V6 manifold with two 38 Dgas carbs fitted. Delivered in new cardboard box via Air. Cost under $1000 with delivery and stung at the end paying customs broker, customs, gst, tariff and landed again around $2800. Well I above my expectations. Yet but something overseas on EBay from a seller and it comes to my door? And worth the same if not more.

I just recently got the 2 a pillar sections from Ex-Pressed. It was just over $800AUD delivered in 5 days once invoice paid. It was just under $200 in shipping, which came beautifully wrapped in sturdy cardboard.

Received my Expressed panels this week. Well packed and very happy with the product. Now ready to produce these Xmas holidays. Thank you all for the responses as I could not deal with another hefty charge once landed. Now I suppose I need to pull my finger out and get it all back together.

Time to fit my Expressed A Pillar now. Wasn’t aware I had to cut openings for hinges, hinge strap and door light switch (only most are square holes). No problem but want it to look original even though no one sees it. Any suggestions for how to do theses? I’m thinking round holes matching each corner the bigger holes for guts and a final file.
Also has anyone actually just used a spot welder to replace it? Seems like a bugger to drill holes everywhere to plug weld it back on. Would a cheap spot welder do a better job? I’ve got a fair bit of panel work to do on this car but really I want this to be perfect like my White V6 I sold this year.

sounds like a good way forward - drilling, then easing out.
I used a spot welder where I could and plug welded the rest. Some guys have done really neat jobs (on other forums) but I cant find them at the mo

Cheers. Made a template and ready to go. It just seems easier with a spot welder and new panel. Old panel maybe not.
