Hey guys,

Not sure but i think im having a problem with my heater box. When i have both the control slides to the squares on the right so it should be closed, i still get airflow out of the vents. I have to shut the vents to stop it.

As much as i can see from looking at it the flap appers to be moving. but i though it should close the airflow off completly?

I get the same thing, when it's on the closed position I still get outside air coming through, so I have to close the vents.

Thats how Mk2 Escort ventilation is designed...
You get some "natural" air flow coming through when moving.

All Mk2 Escorts do this...  (I never knew this was an unusual setup for years, as my first 3 cars were Escorts... It is most un Japanese like.. and I do miss being able to get fresh air on Jap cars and even Falcons/Commodores.)

I pulled my heater box apart, and replaced all the rotted foam with new stuff so that should work. Its not hard to do just a pita.

In the early '70's "flow through ventilation" was a feature.
