I know this is an older thread but just looking at spacing my steering arms on capri struts as i would like a touch more than the 2mm gap between arm and brake rotor. Trying to think logically with my half a brain this would affect the turning diameter and lock to lock. would it not??

Just find some 2lt struts and sweat the tubes out of them.
Can't you just tig the problems up? How bad are they?

You can buy just the bilstein tube out of the U.K for not much. Then weld your hub onto it.
