  • Capri or Escort 2L struts for coilovers

Hi guys

Need some advice as to which ones to use for the play car. I’ve got a pair of each and a coilover conversion kit. Just in two minds as to which ones to use. Pros and cons?

I would use the capri's even its just for the fact of easier to get alloy hubs.

That thought did cross my mind. Less of an issue when I can get a piar of custom ally hubs turned out for close to the cost of buying a pair from the UK.

Capri has bigger stub axle and wheel bearings.

I think the capris would be better as they will fit straight on as for memory the 2lt ones have different tapers for rod ends. Pretty sure thats right hopefully someone will confirm for you

Yerp, Capri struts go straight on a mk1, mk2 struts need either a mk2 steering rack or 'green' tie rod ends (UK RSmk2)

convert the 2L. Capri are hard to get and are great for road mark 1 Escort
