Nardo: The Hilux LSD diff conversion is still a work in progress. But so far upto approx $670 (diff, machining of flanges, new saddles, audi rotors, skyline calipers, new bearings, new studs).

I still require a tailshaft (quoted $260 to adapt and balance), brake lines (i'm guessing $150 due the cost of the flexible lines & fittings), and to sort out handbrake cables (I have the full skyline set-up which I might be able to adapt).

Nigel: Front Inserts finally arrived yesterday (day after the event)

Avon: The 40's are currently running 34mm chokes; but as soon as the gasket kits arrives from the UK the 45s I got off you will be going on!

I really don't know what spec the engine is - it came out of a donor 4dr MkII. I have used the weber settings Des Hammil recommends for a standard 2ltr pinto and it's definately too lean so I suspect the engine may have a cam and maybe some valve work too.

I've managed to spend most evenings this week in the shed and have made some good progress:

The hilux diff is now assembled ready for fitting (to measure tail shaft length):

The brakes are audi 90 rotors and R31 skyline calipers with a custom steel bracket bolting the caliper to bearing carrier

I also got to spend some time on my mates lathe and got the new inserts and tops sorted:

These are Aust 2ltr struts shortened 70mm, gusseted, with rx7 bilstein inserts.

One quick question - Which way do the tops go on?

The one on the left is higher but the load is not on the circlip. The one on the right is obviously lower but i'm worried about the stiff shockie pushing the bearing against the circlip!

Paul, on those strut tops, the circlip faces down.

Paul,

Did you machine the caliper mounting brackets? Are they bolt on?

Do you have any more to sell?????
