Hello All,

I'm new to this forum but have a build thread on Turbosport and a few others.

via a full bare metal strip:

into this:

I'm now starting the development...

Front struts (insert are pending):

Hilux LSD (shafts are away being machined):

More updates to follow...

Car looks fantastic Paul!

Those inserts still haven't turned up? They usually had the stuff out to me within 7 days.

Keep updating, i will be watching closely, hope to have mine looking like yours within the next decade [:p]

I hope i'm allowed to cross post to other forums??? Build thread was here:
http://www.turbosport.co.uk/showthread.php?148374-Virgil-s-Mk1

Shell:
Bare metaled via DIY sandblasting
New front floors (left and right)
New inner sills
New outer sills
Auto tunnel conversion,
New boot wells
Tubbed outer rear arches and bubbles fitted
Fibre glass front guards (took heaps of work to make fit)

Then 3 coats (or attempts) with acrylic white paint (cause I kept buffing through trying to remove the orange peel)

Drivetrain:
2ltr MkII donated (same 4dr that had the tunnel)
seirra 5 speed
pinto with balanced bottom end (apparently)
matted to twin 40 DCOEs
Rally design pedal box (also terrible fit and require modification)

With the exception of the brakelines and some assistance with welding the tubs, it's all my own work.

Thanks for all the positive comments!

It was my first event this last weekend. The Escorts were represented by 3 Mk1s

The track soon revealed the short comings in my donor "standard" Mk2 suspension

While I had "tuned" my webers round my local streets, the lack of high load testing revealed a very lean mix under sustained rev’s/load with my poor little engine det’ing badly along the straights

I now have a set of 45's so i'll fit them and maybe follow everyones advice and get it on the dyno! Hopefully I will have the new front struts and springs fitted for the next event too (according to UPS tracking the inserts are finally due to be delivered today!).
