hi anyone tell me a good engine shop in bris to check and recon performance pinto engine has had head work done but i want to get it rechecked to see if its any good as dyno with it only went 100bhp which is pretty much standard ive pulled it down and head has had work on it ie ports big valves springs cam and followers usual stuff so i need someone to flow it any ideas

If you want quality machine work than use Jack Bros. Most quality engine builders will use Jack Bros or Performance Wholesale for their machine work.


If you want quality head work and cheap prices use Gilberts Head Service in Southport on the Gold Coast. He does everything from EA coon heads through to Maratimo's Lamborgini heads on their offshore boats. Paul Gilbert is a top bloke who's honest and upfront. Got him to rebuild a set of VG30DE heads for me and send them back here to WA. Bolted them straight on, clearances were perfect.

Before you pulled it down you should have checked the cam and ignition timing, deck height and cranking compression. That would have told you exactly where you were and your direction.

If you got cam, compression and airflow right, the rest should be only tuning.
