Damn cool machine! The CA18DET is the best bang for buck engine replacement for Escort. And easy to do to. What's your brake set up? Booster obviously removed but can't see a master cylinder or any remote reserviors.

Also, 205 on a 9" wide rim is not a good idea. Maximum width rim for a 205 is 7". For 9" you need minimum 255.

Also, that Honda Civic(?) radiator might be too small to keep temp's steady, specially in traffic or hot days. Having such a big I/C in front of it blocking cool air flow will not help either. If anything, I (if it was my car) would switch radiator and I/C sizes around.

Do you need such a big I/C? Unless you planning on a huge turbo/power upgrade.. say over 200RWKW, that I/C is not helping your power output and delivery at all. If anything, it's sucking up power. Just advise mate, not bagging.

Its the e bay kit for the escort with a land rover master cylinder, as theyre 1" bore and bolt straight up, which also suits the hilux rear. 205 are fine, alot over her run 195/45 on rims that wide, i dont want to take it for a 4wd on ballons, and turin tyres that wide with out power steering gets a bit heavy. radiator is fine, it doesnt get hot, we have very few hot days as i live here, its summer. and about 14 deg out today. sitting in traffic is not an issue, i live in a city of 50,000 people, it is a weekend car, if i wanted to drive in traffic id take the altezza or hiace.

and the intercooler is fine, i have a spare engine im building up as this setup is just to get it on the road.

got round to fitting my fuel sender, took a bit of cuttin and a bit of welding to change it from a top level to the old escort side level, but got there in the end. tight fit to get it in the tank with it still in place but turned out all good.

and hooked it up and what do you know it works
