Hey guys,
I am just wondering if anyone can  tell me off the top of their heads where the flasher can unit for the indicators in a Mk1 escort is located?
The indicators are the only lights i don't have working so far. Im trying to get an unregistered vehicle permit for the escort, but i want to make sure i have indicators before i do that.

Pretty sure it is above the steering shaft behind the dash.

Cheers,

i reckon mine was on the outer side of the drivers footwell at the top, just above where the kick panel sits. you shouldnt have to take anything out to get to it.

cheers gazz..
i don't need to worry about pulling anything out anyway, cos there is nothing in at the moment below the dash. its all just bare wiring etc etc :P

well, mine has the clip for the flasher inside the a pillar as well, but no flasher can haha. I pinched one from a escort at a wreckers near me. I went to put it in the car today, and now I'm unsure on the wires that should be connected to it. My workshop manual says it should have a Black wire with white and green tracers on it, and a black wire for earth, which taps into the same circuit as the brake light switch :| i found the positive wire (comes off the indicator stalk) but have no idea where the earth wire is.

can someone now post show me a pic of a flasher installed, with the correct wires attached to it? i have the escort booked in for a wheel alignment on saturday, so i technically should have indicators for then. it would be great if i did. i will go back to wreckers and look at that car again, but i am working all day tomoro so i may not get time before saturday to go back.

PS, i hate auto electrics, and i suck at it! so this is why i need help
