Yes another question about brakes and 5stud conversion.
Is the hoppers stoppers kit the best way to do an upgrade/conversion?
I have read through every thread in this section and this is what I have taken from all the responses.
Pros: Kit is bolt on, ADR approved, Get all parts required.
Cons: Heavy as hell, only 2pot calipers.
(Is there much advantage in 4pots over 2, other than sounding cool over the net?)
Is there a 'better' way? I mean for around $1,500 could you convert to 5stud pattern and have better, lighter, brakes than the HS kit.
I am a sucker for brand names and have been looking at Wilwood brakes. If I got some hubs machined up (
550hp Mk2 Cortina wrote in a post that he could do a pair for $600) and purchased 2 calipers, let's say $200 each as i have looked through the wilwood site and there seem to be nice low weight 4pots for around $200, buy 2 rotors, $125each (thats a guess). Have 2 caliper mounting brackets made up $?. Buy the bearing to fit the new hubs to capri struts, $100 (thats what it cost to redo all the bearings for my RWC) plus brake lines.
Ok so i get a total of $1350 + brackets and lines.
So i guess what im asking in a nut shell is what way is best?
Cheers.

Car will be used for track days and cruzin' on weekends.
