ok so im looking into side drafts, nothing crazy, just twin 40s.
stock bottom end, with a mild head [cam, porting std v/v's]

so what's better? webers or dellortos?
seems to be plenty of both on ebay, all around similar price.
and both use the same manifolds/soft mounts.
but what about linkages? how hard are they to come by?
any issues with tuning? how well do they stay in tune?

cheers

I'd go the webers. I have a pair of dellortos and parts are a bit harder to come by for them, plus u can get so many different types.

Where as webers are pretty standard and easier to set-up to suit your engine.

With linkages I made my own set up with redline parts from autobarn.

Good Luck

I have had both and haven't had issues either way.

When you get them, dont stuff around trying to jet them yourself by trial and error if the best advice i can give.

When the time comes i am happy to put you in touch with the carby tuning guy i use. He gets them right first time and you wont have to touch them again.

45s but chokes are 32 - should suit your setup.

well i gave up on the idea of twins, and just bought a 38DGES.
will just have to get it jetted right, and it should be all sweet.

DGES ? The E means electric choke. Ive never seen one with this.

They are usually DGAS (Water Auto choke) or DGMS (Manual choke)

good choice , at least you don't have to change 4 jets at a time, and by most reports should out do a set of 40's anyway, 40's would of been a little smoother but who cares about that
