I got a couple of very nice deliveries yesterday. The first one weighs 3.4kg and is a healthy baby girl.

I'm now a Dad!

The second came from the UK in the form of some alloy arches for the Mk2.

They come predrilled and countersunk. They also sent the rivets to attach them. The first trial fitment (me in the cold and dark lining them up by hand) looks very encouraging.

I'm just waiting for some panels to arrive from NZ and then it'll be full steam ahead!

plus I got permission today to spend a bit and get the bottom end of the motor rebuilt.

It doesn't get much better than this.

Congratulations Steve, I didn't even realise you were expecting. Better get the Escort built real quick mate before the kids take more than their fair share of the pay packet!

Shiny things look good too.

Craig.

Congrats Steve!

Being a dad is just the best thing ever. But how you've managed to find the time to still work on the car at such an early stage in your daughter's life is beyond me. My little one is now six months old and I can count on one hand how many times I've ventured out into the garage! Lucky bugger...

Car's coming along nicely. Enjoy fatherhood!

Well, two months on and the project has moved on a little... about two car lengths to be precise. I've now got the shell back in the garage and have tidied up the final remains of the Mk1 i cut up ages ago.

The little one now has something resembling a routine so I should be able to get the mig out again and start patching up the rust.

Fingers crossed.

I've been around, just not posting anything or logging in to Messenger. I'm hoping to get into the garage on Saturday. Today was spent in the garden mowing down the triffids.

Steve,

Just caught up on your thread. Had no idea you were a dad when I picked up the parts from you. Congratulations mate. It's the best thing in the world. I'm with Simon though, your doing well to get out to the shed to work on the beast. My wife had our second 6 months ago and my eldest just turned 4! Playing with the toys is now non-existant, but hopefully when they get a bit older I can put them to work and get them completed! [:x)]

Once again, Congrats mate.
