The last two days have seen the car go from mainly grey to white. It's still in filler coat at the moment so no pics. Guide coat should go on tomorrow then more sanding, bogging, sanding, spraying, sanding etc. to go over the next couple of weeks. It won't be the best paint job ever but it is fun doing it yourself.

Hey Steve

Where are you planning to paint the top coat? I hired the booth at the body shop to do the RS. Rhys and the guys were really helpful too.

You will be hard pressed to get a good job if you paint it at home in this cold weather!

That's the plan. I'm doing all the boring sanding bits at home with the final coat going on in a booth. Might have to borrow a car trailer off someone to do it though...

I've also got two panel shops within walking distance of here. Might get a quote for a final paint job from them.

Hehe. Not quite. I don't really do much driving as work is a 15 minute walk from home. The second one came up at a good price and it'll be handy as a spare shell if i bend the current one.

Nah. No space frame in this one. She's an original 1.6 with green interior. Basically the same as my first one bar the engine.

Kizza, good to see that mk1 is in good hands. What are the plans for it?

Hopefully my front brakes will arrive shortly. That'll mean the shell can be a roller again and i'll be able to get the final paint coat done and start installing some of the bits i've been collecting.

You are welcome to borrow my trailer anytime you want. I have actually got 2 at the moment, want to buy one?

Very tempting G. Biggest problem would be where to keep it.
