Hehe. I'd be a whole lot further down the line if i hadn't put my back out. You're welcome to come have a look at the tank and make me an offer on it.

I've spent the last three days in the shed and she's now a rolling shell.

The heater plenum is coming off tomorrow along with the LH front wing...

so know you have it has a rolling shell that means you can do a trial fit on the forest arches.......

so what is the end plans for it, a quick street car or something to go play with on the track or dirt?

(3 of my Escorts started out as that colour - one ended up close to the Jag colour you like)

the scary thing is that nearly all the Escort owners I know all have mig welders - lol

no stopping now

Bah. All I could think about all afternoon is how good the car will look with Forest Arches. I'll price a set tonight as i've just been stimulated by Chairman Rudd...

edit: I priced a set. They'll have to wait a little longer as i'm not sure i'm up for the fitting of them just yet and a i have a few more bits that are higher priority.

Spent most of the day removing the tar from the drivers side of the interior

... and this is actually better than I had expected it to be, considering the 30 years of leaves and crap stored within.

Ok. Stripped the floor out. No more tar. I need to modify the gearbox mounts and move the hole to fit the five speed but i need to wait til the crossmember arrives so i can dummy it up.

Got a section to repair the drivers side C pillar and to do a test fitting of the alloy forest arches. Arches should arrive in a couple of weeks. I thought it better to hack a spare panel first before doing the actual car.

Started removing the paint from the doors. Should be finished tomorrow.

90% finished the car spit. Just have to test it and attach the castors.

I think i'm going to run out of annual leave too soon... argh.

Accidents do happen at the workplace.
My father has finished a lot of cars this way.

I like the firewall modification, i was surprised you cut out the heater bubble in the first place.
It will look great once the engine goes in.
Keep up the top work SteveIsn't removing the floor sound deadening fun[:x)]

Unfortunately that last pic isn't of my car... I still need to weld up the gap in the heater plenum and reattach the cover. I'll put up a current pic tomorrow.
