Righto. Here she is.

Purchased in 1996 with my every last cent. I didn't think it through as i couldn't really afford to run it and it spent most of the next 4 years under a car cover at the end of the driveway.

Fast forward to 2000 and i get a job where i need a reliable car. Out comes the green machine from under the car cover and it proceeds to blow the gearbox on the way to work at 1.30am on Middleborough Rd near the railway line. Back under the cover it goes and I purchase a Landcruiser diesel. I couldn't bring myself to sell it so it's followed me around for the last 8 years in various stages of not running. Last year i got it running again and decided to do a proper job of fixing it up.

The car has a bit of rust (heater core, LHS A pillar, RHS C pillar, boot floor) so i need to strip it to a shell. On Monday this week, with the help of escortinadriver, I cleaned out the garage to make space for the Mk2 and to start something that's been 12 years in the making. Now the fun begins...

Looks good Fordsy. Always good to see another Escort being brought back to life.

Sounds like a good engine build too. Good luck. Hope it doesn't take another 12 years. [:x)]

Regards,
Craig.

That link says it fits an R500 Only.

What would it take to make this work in a Mk 2 - just some basic auto electrical skills to connect wiring up to the switches or a complete re-wire?
