Burtons have just assured me that they did not choose the wording, they simply notified the magazine about the new products.
It appears it was the editor who wrote the article and may not have been fully aware.

Just what I needed to know, I need a new steering wheel as mine is falling apart. 
 
Also, if I still have it, I may have a bare frame of a RS laying around somewhere that won't be used by me at any time.
 
Is this going to be a short production run, or a on demmand thing? Because my RS is sitting around doing nothing until sometime after Feb 2016 at the soonest, which is heavily dependent on work-visa's and related BS.

The completed steering wheels will be ready to ship when ordered. But on an exchange basis (ie you send in a rotten one and you will receive a refurbished one).
Customers who want their exact steering wheel refurbished will need to wait until the next production run.
I expect we will be making them for many years to come.
 
Happy to buy rotten steering wheels that are no longer needed or loved. Cash waiting.

Everything is ready for production.
 
I have had to source a bulk quantity of old steering wheels from Europe because there are not many available here in Australia to start.
Without a number of the old steering wheels it is not possible to start production.
Currently on their way to Australia. When they land will be given priority.

Will be sold without the centre cap and without the plastic sleeve around the column.
