Dave, rules regarding alloy cages changed at the end of 2000, so unless your car was log booked with the alloy cage before then, it's not permitted for use at any CAMS sanctioned events.

If it was log booked before the end of 2000 with the alloy cage, you can still add to it, but you can't remove any part of the original structure.

If not, then as Phil said, it will be fine for club level events.

yeh I knew about the log booking and alloy cages before the end 2000,Im must have read the info wrong
