Hi
I have a 32/36 weber on a xflow and i'm in the process of improving airflow. One thing that has sprung to mind is that the phenolic spacer/heat insulator appears to be restrictive in that the 2 holes are smaller than the carb throats and don't appear to be all that well aligned (Maybe from the wrong carb since the whole lot is second hand)
Can i make 2 cuts so i end up with one oval hole rather than 2 round holes (As is the case with the manifold)? or will this stuff up the carb operating normally (When you look at the base gasket which has 32mm and 36mm holes there appears to be some sort of vacuum pathways which the gasket seals; these would be opened up if the spacer and gasket were cut)????
Would really appreciate some advice from someone who has experience with this
Cheers
