Just got a new escort for my first road car as I turned 18 today. Yellow mk2 1.6lt with minilites (pinched off the rs for now). Body is in great condition, apart from a slightly bent bumper and a decent dent in the front panel that we need to fix. Barely any rust, tiny bit in the back pillar, and a very small amount in the back guard, usual spots. I'm also looking for a petrol cap to suit the 1.6lt tank if anyone is able to help out with that [;^)]. Only 2 previous owners, and complete history for all services done.

I've also added a few pictures of my future road car, 1980 mk2 RS2000 2 door. All original panels, bit of rust in the usual spots. Has central locking/alarm, interior is perfect, barely a spot on it. Front seats were re trimmed about 2 years before we got it. Sort of a long(er) term project as funds are a bit short to do a whole respray of the car and have the panel work done.

Thought I'd make a post of them as I am stoked .

Nice cars both of them. RS looks pretty original. Seats in nice condition.

Don't like the look of the rusty water coming out behind the radio onto the driver footwell. Is it from the heater or is there rust inside the heater bubble? Pour about 3L of water from a plastic milk bottle into the grille in front of the windscreen and then feel the top of the tranny tunnel behind the radiator for moisture (assuming its dry there first!). If so, you may have to be taking the heater bubble off at some stage and fixing it (all Escorts rust there at some stage if they get rained on).

the escort looks like a big molotov willytail. dont like the look of the rag in the fuel filler!

haha, cheers for all the feedback guys. Unfortunately, the previous owner already cut holes into the door cards, you just cant see the speakers cause they're in the back corner of the door -_-.
