I've got two sets of standard headers for V6 Essex so I can only say not all V6's had them.

if you ever get a chance to upload pics of the standard Essex V6 headers, I'd be very grateful.
 
Is it possible the standard headers were fitted when an Essex V6 engine went in to Zodiacs and other models other than Capri, and all Mk1 Capri V6 were indeed exclusively fitted with extractors ?

Ron's post made me look in the yellow manual and the figures had been there the whole time.

I will try to post pics. All I can say is the headers were on a Dport motor. That to me says most countries didn't get extractors and standard headers were the go. It comes down to parts identification and as I have learned the local content thing. Most our manuals I believe came from the UK which makes identifying an Australian Capri harder than you might think. As a teaser can anyone give me a part number for the lower metal trim on an Australian Capri. I'd like to know how many parts were unique to our Capris but for one thing I know our brake master cylinder was better than other countries received. Seal kits from other countries won't fit.

Do you, or anyone else here have ALL CRITICAL measurements of the 20.64mm Capri Mk1 MASTER Cylinder ,
including.............
1/ Pushrod Distance from open end of main bore to end of pushrod bore in Master Piston ?
2/ Length and outer Diameter of Master Cyl boss that penetrates Vacuum Chamber before Mounting Flange ?
3/  Centre to centre distance between both Flange Mounting Studs/Bolts
4/  Thread dimensions of both Tube Nuts affixing brake pipes to Master (3/8" & 7/16"UNF ?)
5/  Distance that end of Pushrod from Vacuum Chamber is away from Mounting Flange abutment position of Vacuum Chamber/Master Cyl
 
Hopefully, someone with an old Master & Vac Chamber can measure the above 4 dimensions for me.

As I have dozens of NEW Master Cyls in stock from the 70's and eighties, if i find one that will safely replace the
obsolete Capri Master, I will publish it here first.

Ford Australia released both a 1600 (red cover) and a separate V6 (yellow cover) Workshop Manual for the Australia Capri's. They also issued a Ford Australia Parts Catalogue 1969/- No. 122C in May, 1971, which was updated and reissued in November, 1973. I have copies of both versions and the workshop manuals as well.
 
The lower metal trim or 'Moulding - Floor Side Member' is part number JG 70 10176 A for the RH side and JG 70 10176 A for the LH side. These mouldings were introduced in 1970 according to the Australian Capri Parts Catalogue and were only for use on 1600cc models not the GT.

Many a V6 GT has the lower chrome trim. All my 72 cars I've owned had allowance or pop rivets and plastic lugs in place. My 71 has a different lug but factory for 71 Capri with trim.
