Hi guys chasing a set of tony law extractors for my mk2 rs thought id try here before buying new

you would be pretty lucky to find a second hand set......
exchange rates aren't bad at the moment.
i remember it cost about 100 pounds i think for the postage through burtonpower to adelaide. You can get the pipes cheaper directly through Tony laws but they cant get anywhere near the postage cost that burtons could so it ends up more expensive.
have you looked into the custom option? might be almost the same price at almost $1000 landed for the tony laws.

Yeh ive bein looking into them and ashleys i just thought id put it out there if anyone has any they have ordered and are stuck with because theu didnt fit for some reason bout 1000 landed for both tony laws or ashleys rshop in albury has some tony laws for about 850 so looking just getting them from them

both ends of the spectrum there.
forget the ashleys. you would be better off with the big bore pacemakers.
tony laws are good. 850 seems like a reasonable price for new ones.

Just out of curiosity, what makes these so special, particularly at that price point - special design features, stainless etc?  Len

basically Workmanship.
the tony law system whilst not being stainless has quality welds and joints, a lot better in quality than most other systems.
the ashleys that i have seen have been really thin and lower quality and people have to fiddle a bit to get them to fit, although people have still made good power with them.
have only seen pictures of the simpson exhausts, but they look pretty impressive.
i''m sure they have all done some development to see what is going to work ok on the majority of engines, but you can still make better power using a cheap set than a more expensive set, just depends on what has been done to your particular engine.

agree, got headwork, compression and cam, so went big bore pacemakers, $325 or thereabouts, much smoother note than with old no-name brand. Len

bit the bullet and bought the Grp 2 ashley's. These have larger primary and secondaries than any the domestic pacemaker and genie offering and come with either 2 1/4 or 2 1/2 collector. The local stuff was all 2".  Every thing I read on turbosport was they need wrc cross member and no factory brake booster and need a bit of work to make them fit. All true. Performance wise, they report they are as good as tony law and the other more expensice options.
 
The secondaries are also fitted with slip joints which will hopefully allow some movement and stop the never ending cracked extractors. 
 
Took some fiddling to get them in as they were hard against the rail. Also had to redesign the existing downstream exhaust because it didnt line up and reshape my heat shield as they come out horizontally along way before bending.  Landed in NSW with 2 new 200lb coilovers was $400 from Rally design which I thought to be comparable to the local market. At that price I can afford to wreck a set before I reach tony law prices.
