Well I guess its time to share my lateset aquisition.
The aim is to clean it up and add some performance bits and pieces I have lying around. The car will be used on rainy club days and sprint days.

PS. I was lucky enough to spot a mondeo (145,00kms on the clock)at "pick a part" yesterday and out of interest asked what the going price was for the two litre?
To my suprise and luck, they have a sale on this week on bare motors- $50. I do not recomend the exercise to anyone but after five hours and help from DJB (who I could not have completed the job without - thankyou) we got the motor out and home, only a little skin missing from my hands. No plans for the zetec but you never know what is around the corner and I could not pass it up.

Good stuff Pete

Could do with some rhinoplasty but otherwise it looks very straight and original.

Just going to be running the 2ltr for the time being? Injection? Carbys?

Good work on both fronts Pete [:p]

So, you have plans to corner the RS and Zetec markets simultaneously? I feel a full on turboed Zetec track car in the wings

LOL! I spent 3 hours the other day retrieving my replacement panel sections from the wreckers with a hammer and chisel [:0]

I think Pete has some serious competition from you Paul in respect to capturing the RS market at the moment [:p]

Thanks Guys
I am at this stage keeping the pinto - it seems very strong, came with twin webers(40mm) which I have to fit, aloy rocker cover, new extractors and exhaust, piper cross adj cam wheel. I actually bought the car off a forum member. The body needs a couple of small spots of rust repaired and I have already cleaned up a couple of areas. The nose cone I have now off the car and needs a little more work to get all back to bare - some small repairs and painting.
Next I will be fitting my old bmw/volvo conversion, check what front strut inserts it has as the rears are konis, fit a SPEAD antidive kit which I have, some B45 Simmons I have and hit the track.

Here it is almost finished.
All it needs is a cut and polish, tune, wheel alignment, sort out the soft brake pedal, fix oil leak.
My holidays gave me plenty of time to finish things and I even got a week in Noosa.
Thankyou for your efforts Simon Piper, and parts from Wozzah and Geoff Wade.
Engine Bay needed to go back to bare metal due previous black enamel paint, original nose cone went up in flames with the the whole bumper bar repair joint it was at - this is a new one.(I spent at least 40hrs with my partner rubbing the original one back to bare, she has tinny fingers so she did th grille and wanted to burn the owner of the place when she found out about the factory.)
Front inserts were Konis as well - bonus.
For a roughie I think it has turned out OK and I would guess thus far, inc. the cost of the car I have spent less than $4000.

Thanks Phil but the photos make it look better than what it really is. The engine bay was painted with spray cans, the rest of the body has a scratch and dint here and there.
