Hi, I bought an HD clutch cover the same as this but it came with a solid (uncushioned) 4 paddle plate as seen below.

Is the cover any good and will it work well with this type of clutch plate? The car will be making 130~140 RWHP and used mainly on the road for weekend drives. Will I be better with an organic clutch plate as in Exedy FMK 6075HD?

It should be fine to use with any variety friction plate. For the power ur motor has I'd use a 4 or 6 puk sprung friction plate , rule of thumb , the less puks the more grunt it can handle. .. And less weight also is good on spinning components..
My mk2 escort pinto had about the same power (112kw wheels) and I've used a 4puk sprung clutch , and still very roadable ! Bough it from ACS here in Adel..

Thanks Marty. I went to see Jim Berry today at Race Clutch and he pressure tested the cover which was 160lb, about 10lb more than standard. Then he bolted the cover to a template flywheel with some shims to get the right size (thickness) plate. With my cover, an 8.45mm plate proved to be right in the "sweet spot". He said it will be more than adequate for road use with this amount of HP.
 
I may go to a better clutch later, if & when I find a 3J lsd

Jim also said my 4 paddle plate would be a bit harsh for the road. Not because it's unsprung, or the fact it's a 4 paddle button. But because of the compound

Better ensure you get the right type of release bearing to suit that pressure plate.  It has to be the plastic integral bearing type not the standard one that presses onto the steel carrier.

Thanks Gareth. My existing clutch is English and the bearing is only 2 years old so I'll use that one.
