A radiator shroud does help a lot with directing air flow. From previous threads on the rocker gear everything has to be spot on, the position of the arms on the rocker posts, rocker angles, spring height and seat pressure. I was thinking about a different cam when first putting my engine together- my brother had gone to a huge amount of effort to have the geometry set spot on and asked me not to change the cam because of the amount of work involved in re-aligning it. The only change I made was to fit dual valve springs and he rechecked the spring height and seat pressure to make sure it was ok before fitting the head.
Cheers,
