Hi all,
I have a Mk2 RS2000 which has a loud ticking noise coming from the engine, bottom end. Not sure what has broken but the car still drives with a decent amount of power.
Was wondering if I should get a recond 2L for $3k or buy parts to fix the one I have (plus a 45 weber, cam and efi kit)?
Recommendations appreciated.

The steering has also taken a turn for the worst (pun intended) and is now shaking quite a lot with low amounts of force left or right.

Depends if it's a matching number block.

If it is, fix the bottom end.

If it isn't, do whatever is most cost effective.

if you have a mechanical fuel pump, check its not broken , because i know someone that had a noise from the bottom end and it was the broken fuel pump housing knocking on the block
