I'm wishing to upgrade my front brakes on my Mk2 RS2000 to increase brake strength, I've upgraded the rear brakes to disc so at the moment my brake bias is also rear heavy.
I've got 15's so space is not an issue, but I'm running Sigma stud pattern (I'm running a Sigma diff), if I have to I'll upgrade the master cylinder. Car is used for street only, and I'm thinking of going to slotted fronts.
I've seen some stuff on the Smcka site, but I'm wondering what's everyones thoughts about this.
If possible, I'd like to keep the cost of the parts for the upgrade under $1000 but willing to spend more if need be

I haven't purchased from thes guys, am in no way affiliated with and have no idea who they are. Would be interested to hear if anyone has bought some

Haven't bought any brakes from him, but I have bought some other stuff and he's great to deal with. Pretty fast delivery too.

Those calipers look nice, but will I able to increase the size of the front disc's as at the moment my rears are significantly bigger then my fronts.

With upgrading the brakes, would I be able to use the standard master cylinder or will have to change it?

I think you'd be very lucky to just get away with replacing the front calipers and nail the balance, pedal feel etc. Most people would be looking towards a balance bar pedal box so mc's can be changed to get approx balance and the bar does the fine tuning. A proportioning valve may do the trick but i'd seek some professional advice.

For a street car you need to confirm that whatever you do will satisfy engineering requirements and not cause yours or anyone else's premature demise

I don't think theres any brake specialist's around, I think the only place is profix. There is only a couple of engine specialist's and a so called exhaust specialist.

I live in SA so the only time I have to worry about inspection is if I get defected, my RS has never been inspected, not even a cop shop.

have a look on here for rx7 and pug conversion. I have run these for years standard mc.

The HiSpec kit I sell has the same piston volume as the original M16 calipers so no changes are needed to the master cylinder.
Plug and play as it were.

No problems with rsparts, but I would research further before buying those wilwood's.
I'd say they are the Powerlite M16 caliper which has 4/35mm pistons = 3,850 mm2 total area.
The OE M16 calipers have 2/54mm = 4,580 mm2
Also I get the impression that pad choice is limited for these.
