OK, will update ASAP.

Just another suggestion.........

Maybe as an interim I can maybe have the specs of the cars displayed when you hover over the image etc. Not exactly sure what's involved but I'm sure i'll figure something out to that effect. Failing that I will add it to the current format.

If you're interested just either email or update your original post (favoured option) on this topic with the information you want displayed.

I have placed an image on the site - if you get a chance a 3/4 view would be great and I will update.

I am a newbee to the Classic Ford forum.
So a *BIG* hello to all!

The Mk 2 RS2000 Register and database is a wonderful idea.
I have an absolute priority to Register our two RS,s.

I am wondering if the concept could be taken one step further, if not already thought of.
Because the Register is a database of existing owners and vehicles, how about expanding this to *previous* owners of each vehicle.
The value of these enthusiast/collectors cars is most certainly in their histories, as well as the car's current condition.

As the years roll on each vehicle's history and owner's personal memories will become more and more important to the value of each car. Because of the strong number of surviving vehicles and the enthusiasm/efforts to maintain them many of these cars will survive many years to come, if not indefintiely.

We have very recently bought our second RS and would love to find previous owners and histories etc. (I still own my first RS I purchased brand new on May 9, 1980, with all docs etc held in safe keeping).
ta, PeterM.

Hi peter and a "BIG" welcome

Feel free to submit information and images and I will add them to the growing list or cars - I'm especially interested in your one owner example [:u]

My intension is to expand the register and maybe include a little history etc of each car but as I'm a "web design" novice it's a slow and tedious process unfortunately. Thank god for Dreamweaver

Hi Paul,
I have all of the documentation together for both RS's ready to submit to the Register in the near future.
The first RS is currently in storage (since 1990) so I will take a new photo of this for the Register. This car is (and has always been) very significant to me. It was bought for for me by my father when I had just turned 17 years old. It was the very first car in our family and was a very large outlay for a middle class family. I rolled (partly flipped) the car on Boxing Day 1981 when it was just 18 months old, on a road I had been driving for years previously. I was not speeding, or being an idiot. The car had 17,156 km on the clock. Immediately, as an insurance write off (I was then 19 years old, and with no experiance and no direct assistance from other's) stripped and rebuilt the car completely from literally the floorpan upwards with all brand new panels and parts. I learned how to grind, weld, straighten, panel beat, paint and spray paint, assemble and to improve, all under the family front yard carport.
In 1985/6 I developed a 2 litre (not the original engine!) to 2.45 litres with a hand made high tensile steel crank and rods with Switzer turbo. Fortunately I realised the future value of these cars and I had a policy of absolutely no modifications to the original vehicle panel work.
Currently the car has a genuine 44,446 km and is in immaculate and as original condition inside and out, with matching numbers and with all documentation, even the original sales deposit receipt for $50-00 to buy the car. Unfortunately my father is no longer with us to still see the car.
After a long hiatus (20+ years) I have recently got the bug to do something with the RS's again. Several weeks ago over Easter my better half and I purchased a second RS in perfect working order. Immediately stripped, (the better half did not get a chance to ride in it!) the bodyshell is currently on a rack/spit being totally restored from bare body shell up. Keeping busy at this end!

If you would like some assistance with the Register then maybe we can help. We have IT experience and the Register may be a good project to become involved with as time permits. Can discuss more if you wish.

ta, PeterM

Welcome On Board Peter,

Looking forward to seeing some pic's of your car's on the register
I see you are in Sydney, let us all know when you get your car's on the road.
Maybe we will see them at one of the events later this year ?
Mine is still about 12 months away from being roadworthy, can't wait

Hello Glenn,
Thanks for your message. The "master plan" is to have the second RS completed and registered ready for the RS Owners Show and Shine day at Parramatta in November. I say "master plan" - as you well know reality may intervene!

Has anyone tried to find the history of their car - ie tried to find past owners and the original selling dealer?
I notice that Paul has mentioned the vehicle SIDO number (this thread date 18/4/08), however can this be traced back to the original selling dealer? Records at Ford MO CO seem to be scattered and often non existant.
