Apparently these came in Granadas and some Sierras.

I believe standard practice is to pull them out and stick a cable in for your Escort or Capri.

If anyone has the electronic sender and its surplus to your needs, please PM me or reply here.

Thanks

I know burton do an adaptor for the type 9 so you can use a standard ford electronic sender. Add an electronic speedo in place of your old escort one and calibrate it. Much better than the old cable driven setup.

Having said that i didn't go that way myself. I blocked off the hole on the gbox. I had a bracket made up behind the wheel studs so i could mount a hall effect sensor. I done it this way to match my revotec speedo and it works a treat

Thanks for the reply Mark.

Yes, I've seen the adapter so was hoping to source a sensor first then I'll go and buy the adaptor - or make one.

In the meantime I have a reluctor sensor out of a jap auto transmission and am trying to figure out where to mount it on the tailshaft or a front hub. The type 9 sensor would just be a lot neater though.

S14 silvia speedo fits nicely in the Escort dash - you would hardly know it wasn't factory - except for the 180km/h limit!
