I contacted Scheel some time ago (also looking for the same thing) - no luck. The guy I spoke to knew what I was talking about though, but he hadn't see any in 20 years.

I see you have 2 options:-

1 - buy some crappy seats as they come up - you wil lbe buying them solely for the tlit lever. You can then re-sell them for the same amount.

2 - Broaden your horizon - whilst technically not correct, look for later model RS levers (try Ebay in UK too). I scored 2 that were still in a box for $30.

ok odd...i only got my seats not long ago, and looking at the pics i was thinking that mine didn't look the same, so today when i had the chance i snapped a quick pic of my levers...sorry for the crappy image as the iphone has no flash....(yet)

My other question is did the aussie RS come out with the tilt lever down the bottom just in front of the recliner wheel???

Cheers

Hi Bryan,

My piccies were taken from my RS2000 delivered to me on the 9th of May 1980 brand new. The seats and the tilt forward levers are definitely original fitted to this car.

Maybe there were other design levers also, but not sure.

The other version lever down near the recliner knob were the same Scheel seats, however were either earlier or later version seats. Some people say earlier, others say later. I tend to think the version with the lever half way up the seat are the later version, however I may be incorrect. A mate has an October 1980 build RS2000 with a completely tracable history. His levers are the same as mine, half way up the seat.

thanks Peter...i would tend to agree that i believe the levers half way up the back would be a later version simply because it is easier to work (less/no bending of the back to tilt). I only recently purchased my seats as my originals are probably in TAS somewhere...so yeah i am just trying to find out what is original and what i may need to be changing to look more original when i finally start my beast....

Cheers

Hello Bryan,

I am positive that the levers that I put up in the photos dated 16/4/10 on this thread are the correct levers for the Scheel seats (for the version seat with the tilt forward lever half way up the side of the seat).

Reason/Reference:
The photos are of the Scheel seats in my RS2000 delivered to me brand new on May 9, 1980, which I still own. These seats are the exact same seats fitted when the car was delivered to me brand new.

ta, peter.

Thanks Peter and yes i would agree...

The anything wasn't questioning about the originality of yours or mine...im happy to get ones like yours im just wondering if anyone has had in moment on the levers or will it just get lost in the archives....

Thats the Anything??? Any one looking at getting some made? where do u take things like this to? who??

Appears now i would be after 2 more so 4 sets of these so im keen (to say the least from my questioning on here!! )

Cheers

Bryan
