Does it matter what the T5 is out of and anyone know how this would go in a Mk1 Escort van? 

I have test fitted one into my bubble arch mk1 , with auto tunnel and the sides have clearance but the top of the tunnel needs raising nearly 2in to clear at the stick ramping forward to the bulkhead. .
I borrowed a Cossy T5 box and belhousing to fit behind the zetec .

I would steer toward the xf falcon style one - appear to be the "shortest" of the variants

Whats the gearbox mount off. Or are you saying off an xf. Hope you didn't modify extractors with block hammer.

I can't remember what the mount was out of - ha ha - no I had another set of extractors here that did the job

Spud, is that gearbox crossmember from a capri? It looks like your t5 conversion is on a facelift v6.

No it's out of a Sierra or something - with a type 9 box. Yes a 73 facelift. Hate drilling holes etc in them but only 2 fr that conversion so worth it, given the overdrive facility..

The other extractor set I had hug the fire wall and clear the slave

I did a bit more refining on the conversion. Ive ditched the slave supplied by dellow and used - part no P - 10274 (protex). Ask Dellow not to drill the bell housing for the slave  or you will have to weld the holes up and re-drill - u can use the original extractors.

I also made up my own adaptor (box to cross member)


to accept the original capri mount
