i have two bosh type starter motors which will fit my 711m 1600 xflow.

the main issue is the bosh starter motor has a solenoid on it... the clapped out one (that i want to replace) has the solenoid pointing straight down... out of the way of everything...

the new reconditioned one has the solenoid straight up... which means that it doesnt line up properly because it now hits the extractors / exhaust...

the solenoid housing / arm looks as if it is the same solid part as the block (bolting pattern edge)- which means i could be stuffed... yes, the numbers on each starter are slightly different (0.8hp NEW, 0.9HP old)but they look identical, and have the same clearances...

So did i get the wrong one, and need to keep looking,
or, is it as simple as taking it apart and rotating the casing 180 degrees so that it fits?
