Can the informed tell me why somebody would choose an adjustable TCA with a rose joint rather than one with the usual bush??? Is it that the rose joint is more predictable and provides better feel???

The only negative thing about rose jointed TCA's is that they're illegal on public roads. Other than that, rose's for me please. [:x)]

rose joints are suitable for track use as its rare you will race in rain, if the vehicle is a street car unless the rose joints have the rubber boots(and sometimes even if they do) they will be ruined from the rain and dirt

well you can but they will get ruined very quickly, the dustboots can prolong their life for road use, but only good brands like cusco come with this, and i doubt they list a escort tca

I have the adjustable bush type. Basically same as standard TCA but adjustable. My choice was that in SA Rose joint was illegal for road use.

Mine will be a dedicated tarmac car so I can get around the road rules on that one. just need somebody to confirm or disagree that wet ruins rose joints.

Also nobody has actually stated the benefit (other than bling) of rose over bush...........

Hi Mk1_Oz,

Water wont hurt a rose joint, its the dust and dirt that usually comes with the water that is the problem. In saying that, I ran open rose jointed arms in the front of my car on the road and track for 10 years and the rose joints are still ok. Bear in mind there are several different levels of quality available in rose joints, the quality is usually indicated by the lb load rating.

The benefit is increased feedback from the road/car and a very positive location of the component that it is mounting.

The disadvantages are a more harsh ride and more body shell wear an tear due to the harsh ride and increased feedback or shock transfer.

Cheers,

Phil.
