Wanted to buy - Escort Late Mk1 or Mk2 4spd Gearbox(es), Extension Housing Assemblies &/or Parts.

First, I need the speedo driving gears for a 4.125 Diff Ratio (as fitted to Mk2 1300 Panelvans) these are the Worm Drive Gear and the Pinion Gear that live inside the Gearbox Extension Housing.

The Worm Drive Gear has 6 Teeth (I am guessing this means a 6 start worm?) and its Part No. is 71BG 17285 BA, which should be marked on it somewhere. The 6T gear is standard fitment on later (1974-5) Mk1 Gearboxes, and on Mk2 Boxes fitted to 1976/77 - 1300cc Panelvans. The Pinion Gear is 23 Teeth and colour coded Blue, Part No. 71BG 17322 BA

(Gearboxes fitted to 1600s and 2L Pintos have 7 Tooth Worm Gears and different Pinion Gears & are the most common - that's what I have now & need to swap over as part of the rebuild)

Will consider a complete late Mk1 box or extension housing assembly with 6T worm gear still in it if anyone has these bits laying around. Happy to pay postage on the two gears if anyone has a set.

The 23T Pinion Gear is available new from Burtons in the UK if I get stuck but it's mainly the worm gear that I need to find.

Second, also need a Mk2 cast iron Bell Housing (no cracks or stripped threads) and Gearbox Housing and Gear Shift Lever assembly, will consider a complete Mk2 1300 or 1600 box suitable for rebuilding, prefer Adelaide pickup due to size & weight & convenience.

Cheers

Thanks to dnorris & blackvr for their help so far, it's been gratefully appreciated guys.

*Bump* I now have the 23T speedo gear, bell housing and most bits I asked for in my first posting, but the 6T steel worm gear which fits on the output shaft is proving very hard to find and I am still looking! [x2x]

If anyone has a spare gearbox from a 1973 - 1975 Mk1 Escort please let me know, as *most* of these boxes had the 6T worm gear - this is the drive gear left on the shaft that you can see if you take the plug out of the extension housing, and have removed the speedo gear that connects to the cable.

Cheers
