Hi all,

I own a Ford Escort Mk2 2 litre with a Weber carby. The carbon cannister i have is the non-EMAIL version. I am unsure where the purge connection goes to. Any help or pictures would be great. I have checked everywhere and cannot find where it would fit. Plus the connection at the bottom of the cannister should that go anywhere or should it just drain from that hole?

Thanks,

Yan

Hi SaggaRS,

I had a look at the topic but still does not tell me where the Purge actually plugs into the Weber carby. I have looked all over and cannot find where it might go.

Also on a side note is it true that with Weber carbys you dont actually have a fuel return line?

Thanks all,

Regards,
Yan

Ooops. Sorry bout that. Haven't had a 32/36 on the car for a few years now. I think i confused it with a 45dcoe.

I am chasing the same problem.

The purge side of the carbon canister should enter the base of the carby somewhere.

I have checked the usual service manuals however no detail or reference is given.
Also I have asked several older Ford Trained mechanics.
Also checked an original untouched inlet manifold and carb setup.

Maybe there is a tee piece in the vent line I am missing.

No solution yet.

Interesting problem......

Also in regards to return line, i am told that there is no return for a Weber then what connects up to this, see photo:

Oh and you can clamp a small piece of hose on it with a bolt in the end and a clamp around that or the way i use to do it was pull the barb fitting out and get it thread tapped and put a allen key bung in it to block it off.

Yes that is the return line. My webber is the same. It should connect to a fuel line running back to the fuel tank.
